The third annual La Crosse 48 Hour Film Festival, presented by the La Crosse Film Academy at the Rivoli Theatre in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin, welcomes filmmakers from the Coulee Region to join this exciting community-building experience centered in local storytelling. Featuring short films created in just 48 hours by local filmmaking teams, the Festival aims to honor and celebrate local storytelling artists and build community among lovers of cinema. Team registration opens February 27 and spots are limited. The Festival on May 2 at the Rivoli Theatre is free to attend although donations are encouraged. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

“Civics and Cinema,” a new program devoted to sharing classic movies, bringing the community together, and fostering civic conversations. Join us for a special one night only presentation of All The President's Men | During the 1972 elections, two reporters' investigation sheds light on the controversial Watergate scandal that compels President Nixon to resign from his post. | The screening will be followed by a discussion led by the filmmakers as well as Sam Scinta and Rick Kyte from Viterbo.

Join us for a screening of three short films (Tiger, Meet Me at the Creek, and Restoring Néške'emane) and a discussion following the film to learn about today’s Indigenous peoples through movies, media, and dialogue. This event is in partnership between the Ho-Chunk Nation Youth & Learning Center at the La Crosse Ni Tani Hocira (Three Rivers House), UW Extension La Crosse County, The Rivoli Theatre, Western Technical College, Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, and the La Crosse Public Library.
